چکیده

This study aimed to investigate the adsorption of three commercial reactive dyes using extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) extracted from waste sludge a beer wastewater treatment plant in Hanoi, Vietnam. EPS was by HCHO-NaOH method and characterized measuring kaolin flocculation activity, dry weight, chemical composition, functional groups. Adsorption on conducted Jartest at different pH values, contact times, dosages. The composed 25% weight. FTIR analysis showed presence amine carboxyl groups structure. removal efficiencies were high values below 6, time 30 60 min, dosage 200 – 250 mg/L. At optimum condition, 85%, 99%, 99% obtained for Reactive Yellow 176 (RY 176), Blue 21 (RB 21), Red 241 (RR 241), respectively. process could be described both Langmuir Freundlich models. maximum dye capacities RY 176, RB 21, RR 0.50 g/g, 0.72 0.95 It is concluded that utilized as an effective adsorbent removal, thereby enhancing value treatment. • used removal. Removal 99%. capacity less than 6.

Extraction of Structural Extracellular Polymeric Substances from Aerobic Granular Sludge

To evaluate and develop methodologies for the extraction of gel-forming extracellular polymeric substances (EPS), EPS from aerobic granular sludge (AGS) was extracted using six different methods (centrifugation, sonication, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), formamide with sodium hydroxide (NaOH), formaldehyde with NaOH and sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) with heat and constant mixing). AGS was ...

Fluorescent component and complexation mechanism of extracellular polymeric substances during dye wastewater biotreatment by anaerobic granular sludge

In this study, methylene blue (MB) wastewater was biotreated by anaerobic granular sludge (AnGS), and the fluorescent components of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) and complexation mechanism were evaluated. Based on the experimental data, the sorption of MB by both live and inactivated AnGS followed the pseudo-second-order model, and the adsorption isotherm conformed well to the Langmu...

Characterization of Extracellular Polymeric Substances (Eps) Produced byCloacibacterium normanense Isolated from Wastewater Sludge for SludgeSettling and Dewatering

In this study, extracellular polymeric substances (EPSs) producing strain was isolated from municipal wastewater sludge (MWWS). Growth profile and the EPS production by Cloacibacterium normanense using wastewater sludge as raw material in shake flask fermentation for 96 h were investigated. The highest concentration of S-EPS (13.0 ± 0.8 g/L) and C-EPS (0.3 ± 0.1 g/L) were attained at 48 h of fe...
